Scott Pilgrim the comicbook speaks to my heart very dearly. It is generation defining, at least for me. I never felt so represented as a target demographic in anything else ever.
Of course i think it’s very very good, excellent too, and of course I’m not objective. It’s me, it’s everything i grew up with rolled into a single story, i wish i’d written this myself.

In today’s mind=blown news Canada’s own Alison Pill, aka Kim Pine, Sex Bob-omb snarky, manic ginger pixie drummer (and immortal tumblr gif icon) has apparently made a career for herself, lately starring as Zelda Fitzgerald in Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris and other movies as well.
Well done Kim!

Scott Pilgrim vs the world soundtrack details

In the movie Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World, titular character Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) is the bassist of a band called SEX BOB-OMB. As previously reported, the filmmakers recruited Beck to write all the songs for Sex Bob-Omb. The movie’s soundtrack album, due August 10 from ABKCO, features four songs from Sex Bob-Omb, with Beck providing the instrumentation and actors from the movie doing the vocals. The soundtrack album will also feature unreleased jams from Beck himself, Metric, and Broken Social Scene, credited to the fictional band Crash and the Boys. There’s also classic material from T. Rex, the Rolling Stones, and Broken Social Scene again (“Anthems for a Seventeen-Year-Old Girl” counts as classic now, right?) Plus the 1997 track “Scott Pilgrim” by the Canadian band Plumtree, which inspired comic creator Bryan Lee O’Malley to name his creation in the first place. The film, which opens wide August 13, also boasts a score from Radiohead/Beck collaborator Nigel Godrich, which will eventually see digital release. Godrich also served as executive producer on the soundtrack album.
